On Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at a meeting of the AARP Champion Nursing Coalition and Council, Leapfrog, a member of the Coalition, announced that they will include measures of nursing excellence in their annual hospital survey on quality and patient care.
Leapfrog joined other health care, business, consumer, and education leaders at this meeting convened by the Center to Champion Nursing in America (CCNA) to develop strategies to prepare and enable nurses to lead change to advance health, a key recommendation from the Institute of Medicine (IOM) report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health. CCNA is working with national and state stakeholders—Action Coalitions—to drive action in support of the IOM recommendations.
