New model enables Red Cross nursing to find solutions to challenges in the nursing profession.

A new American Red Cross nurse-led disaster health services community response model being put into place helps improve Red Cross health services to disaster survivors.

The new model means that Red Cross nursing is aligned with recommendations made in a recent Institute of Medicine report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health. Institute findings have spurred the launch of a nation-wide initiative to outline strategies for how our health care system should most effectively utilize nurses, and Red Cross nurses aim to be part of that effort.
