The summit will bring together diverse leaders from around the country to discuss the implications of the recommendations for the future of health care and the future role of nurses in America. Participants will identify strategies for implementing them and discuss overcoming barriers to adopting the recommendations.
The summit will feature Committee Chair Donna E. Shalala, PhD, FAAN; Committee Vice-Chair Linda Burnes Bolton, RN, DrPH, FAAN; Harvey V. Fineberg, MD, PhD, President of the Institute of Medicine; and Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, MD, MBA, President and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Summit Objectives:
- Officially “kick-off” the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Initiative on the Future of Nursing (IFN): Campaign for Action and mobilize participants to implement recommendations.
- Inform thought leaders who are speaking about and making decisions around health care.
- Connect the transformation of nursing to the transformation of health care delivery to patients/consumers for policy leaders and decision makers.
- Present the implementation architecture plan for the RWJF IFN Campaign for Action to show stakeholder relevance and fit.
- Begin to create a sustainable infrastructure to maintain implementation efforts and commitments.

Good morning. I signed up for webcast last week in home that a group of nurse leaders at our institution could listen. I have not as yet received schedule of which sections will be available via webcast, the time frrame or link.
